Hello, my name is Isabellea
about
Bio
I am Master's student at the University of Groningen studying Media Creation and Innovation. Currently, I am working on my thesis about parasociality and bias in American national news media. I also have a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia College and State University, where I majored in Mass Communication with a journalism pathway.
My mother is Venezuelan and my father is Dutch, and my cultures are something I take a lot of pride in. I was born in Minnesota but my family moved back to Venezuela when I was still young. After living in Caracas Venezuela for around a year, we moved to Mexico City, Mexico for five years. When I was 8 years old we moved to Alpharetta, Georgia where I lived until moving for college. Currently I am living in Groningen, the Netherlands and plan to be back in the Atlanta area in 2027.
In my time at Georgia College, I was involved in several organizations and have taken up many leadership roles. I was member of the Kappa Upsilon chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha in which I served two executive council positions, once as housemanger, and once as Panhellenic delegate. During my time as a journalism student, I was a reporter for both Georgia College's newspaper (The Colonnade) and news broadcast (GC360). Beginning my sophomore year, I took on the role of Lead Anchor and Co-Executive Producer of GC360, and remained in the position for the duration of my time at Georgia College. During the summer of 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at Seacrest Studios Atlanta and learned more about the media industry. In the summer of 2024, I made my way down to Miami, Florida where I was the MMJ intern at NBC 6 and Telemundo 51. Being able to work in both English and Spanish, was a dream come true, and I hope to be able to do so again. As I finish up my studies in Groningen, I am required to complete another internship within the media industry starting in January 2027.
